What is coconut flour?
Coconut flour is made from finely ground coconut meat and can be used in a variety of delicious recipes, including bread, keto cakes, cookies, pizza, lots of coconut flour desserts, and more!
It's gained popularity for its low-carb content, it has about 68g of carbs per 100g which might seem high but since it absorbs a lot of liquid, you only need a small amount in your recipes which reduces the carb content per recipe.
Coconut and almond flour are the most popular keto choices for baked goods. However, you cannot make yeasted bread or gluten-free sourdough with such flours.
Can coconut flour be swapped for almond flour?
No, since coconut flour absorbs way more liquids than almond flour does, it is not recommended you swap one for another. I have an almond flour bread recipe for a low-carb diet if you need one!
